We have submitted our Return to Learn Plan to the Iowa Department of Education. This plan is our guide for educating our students in the 20/21 school year. It is not a specific document that spells out everything we are going to do. That work will take place in July and August but it is used to guide our decisions. Please remember that people have strong opinions about COVID-19 and what we need to do. We will work with Iowa Department of Education, Kossuth County Public Health, Iowa Public Health, Algona CSD (sharing partner) and the CDC to work out specifics of our plan.
Please be patient with us. We have 2 months before school starts and things change rapidly in the COVID-19 world. We will do our best to educate our students and try and keep them and the staff as healthy as possible. This change has never been attempted in education and we are doing it on short notice. We know we will have to make adjustments as we go.
Please keep in mind other people's opinions and feelings. This is especially true about how you talk and act around your children when discussing the pandemic. They take cues from us as adults and sometimes we have to keep our emotions in check, even when we have very strong feelings about the subject. If you need some help with the stress of the pandemic or the stress on your children please contact our counselor - Courtney Fannon (email@example.com).
We are really looking forward to seeing our staff and students again!
