About Us!

Lu Verne (former Corwith-Wesley & Lu Verne CSDs) CSD is located in north central Iowa.  We are approximately 1 hour west of Mason City and 45 miles north of Fort Dodge.  We are a very rural district made up of the communities of Lu Verne, Corwith and Wesley.  In 2015 we entered into a whole grade sharing agreement to send our 6-12 students to the Algona MS/HS.  Our district currently runs a PreK-5 building which is located at 405 Hanna Avenue in Lu Verne, Iowa.

We are very proud of the fact that we have over 45 ipads, 60 chromebooks.  We also have in each classroom a 65" interactive Promethean TV for staff and students to use.  We have a very small ratio of teachers to students which allows us to build a strong 1:1 relationship not only between the students and teachers, but also with the secretary's, administrators and other staff members.

We have updated our classroom environment to make them more conducive to educating our students.  In 2018 we implemented the EL Literacy program and have fully embraced PRESS as our literacy intervention system.  In 2019 we implemented Bridges Math and have been updating our intervention system.  We also have taken part in training on trauma sensitive classrooms with our sharing partner Algona CSD.
